Glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is present in people who have had diabetes for some time. Normally, as glucose leaves the cells and travels through the blood, it binds to haemoglobin before being absorbed by cells all throughout your body. The most commonly used tests to measure glycation are glycated haemoglobin and glycated albumin.
