Making life easy with utility protection markers

While we prioritise ensuring that fencing areas remain safe and secure by offering a range of ballast Kentledge blocks designed to stabilise fencing and make it easier for you to protect your site, we also recognise the importance of service protection locators.

Fencing contractors are required to complete a Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) report to address the risk of buried utilities. Marking these areas is crucial and should form part of the safe system of work for every job, implemented before commencing any project.

With this in mind, we have introduced precast concrete cable protection covers, indicator posts, and marker blocks to simplify the process of locating subterranean utilities and infrastructure, thereby reducing the risk of service strikes, which can be both dangerous and costly.

These visual locators are invaluable for all involved, including land and asset owners (such as gas, water, electricity, and telecoms providers) as well as local users like residents, farmers, or commercial tenants. They help mitigate the risk of costly delays and damage to the surrounding area.

If you are aware of buried cables and pipelines on your land and wish to add service protection markers, a CAT scan (cable avoidance tool scan) can be carried out to locate them, and markers can be added afterwards.

In addition to safeguarding installed utility products, our heavyweight concrete blocks can be used to secure field and land boundaries, reducing the risk of unwanted visitors. This added stability makes it easier for you to secure your site effectively.
