Electrofusion Jointing The Electrofusion jointing system has been around since the 1970’s and is the tried and tested jointing system for the Gas and Water Utilities installing Polyethylene pipes. As per the Ground Source Heat Pump Associations Shallow Ground Source Standards all underground connections for Polyethylene pipes (PE100 and PE100-RC) should be welded joints. This means Electrofusion is the obvious joint of choice in Ground Source. Whilst the jointing process is simple, there are basic important steps that must be followed.
