All new commercial buildings need to incorporate Inclusive Design principles to comply with Building Regulations and Disability Discrimination (Equality Act 2010) legislation. This is not always as straightforward as it sounds, things get even more complicated when dealing with the alteration, extension or change of use of an existing building, it may be a case of using professional judgement to decide how to balance an optimum level of accessibility with reasonable practicality.
