WHSmiths has been trading for over 225 years and operates over a thousand travel units, mainly in transport links and hospitals, with products tailored to the travelling client. WHSmiths were keen to push the boundaries on a new wave of stores in both Gatwick and Heathrow, that were far above the look and feel of their normal offering. JAS worked closely with a London design agency to develop the specification of the brand to match the new improved look and feel of the store. The scheme included a portal surrounding the entrance to the store which was set off by a vibrant blue LED keyline. The fascia’s were a textured blue wave effect with individual illuminated letters as a center piece. We implemented both internal and external signage across 8 key airport sites at both Gatwick and Heathrow.
