Hoggin
As Raised Hoggin is a cost-effective, natural aggregate composed of clay, sand, and gravel, suitable for paths, cyclepaths, tracks and bridleways. The range of gravel sizes that make up Hoggin ensure it compacts firmly. Hoggin is ideal for applications where are a firmer surface than standard gravel is required. Hoggin should be placed in thin layers and rolled using a vibrating roller to create a firm surface. We recommend 50-75mm depth for footpaths and borders. Hoggin must be laid on a suitable free draining compacted sub-base such as MOT Type 3 and it is essential that Hoggin is laid with a camber or crossfall to allow water to disperse. Poor drainage is the number one cause of surface failure. This product must not be laid when soaking wet or bone dry as compaction will be lost.
