Lump Chalk Fill

Other Name(s): Chalk Fill, Cattle/Livestock Chalk   Consists of: Lump Chalk Fill is most widely used as a sub-base for buildings and yards associated with cattle/livestock. Our Chalk Fill is approximately 50mm down to dust to faciltate easy laying and compaction. Chalk is an excellent material for absorbing urine and is generally considered to be less abrasive on the feet of animals than traditional concrete bases. Rapid absorption of urine is essential in keeping bedding dry which in turn reduces the requirement for fresh bedding and also ensures ammonia levels are kept to a minimum. Compacted Lump Chalk remains hard enough to be mechanically scraped when there is a requirement for mucking out. A Typical lump chalk sub-base should be laid at 200mm (8") deep to achieve a compacted depth of 150mm (6") and ideally laid in dry conditions.   Ideal for: Livestock yards, stable bases, stock housing,   Availability: Loose or Bulk Bags   Minimum Order Quantity: 10 Tonnes Loose or 1 x 750kg Bulk Bag
