Steps & staircases

Our stone steps can be used for both internal and external use. It has a marble-like appearance which is very unique and easily carved, which is an advantage when fitting the stone. The surface does not become slippery when wet, making it ideal for outdoors. When designing your staircase a key issue is the location of the handrail support standards. The staircases themselves can have complicated geometric forms or sunk carved panels, exuding elegance and craftsmanship which are complimented by the stone’s aesthetics. The raw stone is cut to order and masoned skillfully into your chosen style. Typically this consists of rounded bullnose, plain sawn edges to angled chamfer styles. Alternatively bespoke landings stones, treads and risers can be ordered.
