The Brief
Complete refurbishment of a reception class area to create a light, bright and stimulating environment - incorporating clear demarcation of space, good sound attenuation and, ideally, sustainable materials.
The Invotek Solution
Invotek actively sought the involvement of the Reception Year teachers in the design process, and the eventual proposal was based on the well-proven Invotek 75 system - with the added benefit of innovative strawboard panels offering a number of significant advantages over the conventional plasterboard and MDF alternatives.
As well as being eco-friendly and totally recyclable, the inherent rigidity of strawboard allowed arrestingly different glazing elements to be incorporated with ease, while the material’s excellent impact resistance and acoustic performance made it a sensibly functional option in the often hectic and boisterous situation of a classroom.
The panels were finished in vivid primary colours to add further interest and variety, and the installation was completed on time and on budget in just 5 days.
The Result
A suite of classrooms which is both practical and inspiring - and meets the current and likely future requirements of the school, the teachers and the pupils alike.
