This fibre was originally developed for use within the maritime industry. The cleaning of boats is strictly regulated?to stop?harmful chemicals being transferred into the water.\nWhen it comes to stone tiles, the same principle applies. Chemicals cannot be used to clean the stone or the grout because they will either break down the stone sealer which is protecting the tiles, or in many cases bleach the stone.\nA UK research and development company invented a fibre which does the cleaning instead of a detergent. Pure Adhesion Ltd has worked with the inventors of Macro Fibre to produce a simple pad for cleaning grout as well as the stone itself. The Macro Fibre pad is just dipped into water and then, without using much pressure at all, wipe over the grout joints or the stone a few times and the difference is astonishing. The pad has millions of fibres shaped like minute hooks.
