Water with Additive Fire Extinguishers

These water based fire extinguishers are suitable only for use on fires involving wood, paper, textiles etc. Fire extinguishers containing plain water are becoming quite rare, very often a chemical additive is added to the water to enhance the fire fighting performance of the extinguisher. This helps the end user, because a 3 litre water with additive fire extinguisher can equal the performance of a 9 litre fire extinguisher containing only plain water, which obviously makes the unit easier to handle.
