Unitised Metal Polishing Discs (SAG Range)

Applications: These unitised discs are mounted on a backing disc for directly fitting onto the flanges of angle grinders (preferably variable speed) and metal polishers. Unitised material is re-processed non-woven abrasive. By varying the hardness, formulation and abrasive mix different performance characteristics are achieved. At their softest, FAG 4 discs are ideal for stripping paint and coatings due to their conformity. They also work well on aluminium, leaving a better finish than may be obtained with a conventional stripping disc. SAG grades 5 & 7 are ideal for surface improvement and are often known as pre-polishing discs. Use grade 5 for polishing and grade 7 where a little more aggression is required. MAG discs are more aggressive still and will leave light swirl marks. TAG A6 discs are for light grinding and controlled material removal, for example when blending a TIG weld.Specification: Made with non-woven abrasive material blend. Mounted on a fibreglass backing plate with 22.2mm fixing. No backing pad required. Free from iron contamination - ideal for stainless steel. Advised speed: 4,000-5,000rpm. Max speed 115mm: 10,000rpm, 125mm:8,000rpm. For use on cool metal.
