I can’t believe that it’s been 4 months since the last news update. So many things have happened and it has been so busy, the time has just flown by. 2013 seems to be the year everybody is doing up their homes and gardens, we have been inundated with orders for gates, railings and in particular rose arches! Two especially nice ones to do were for the beautiful rose garden at St Hilda’s college, Oxford University. Hopefully, we will be able to update our photo gallery with some of our recent work soon. The biggest change is in our retail outlet at Handpicked Hall in Ripon. HPH is based in the old Philip Halls department store, and is a unique collection of independent traders, selling a wide variety of goods based on 4 sections – vintage, arts and crafts, food and fashion & accessories. Many of the retailers make their own goods, and there is always a wide variety of treasures to find. We have moved positions within Handpicked Hall and now occupy a much larger space, with room for customers to walk around and browse our products at leisure. As well as being able to buy in the hall, customers can also look at our books and samples of our work, arrange quotes and talk to us in person regarding bespoke commissions. The office phone is also transferred here so customers can still reach us by calling our landline number 01765 601677. Another big change within Handpicked Hall is that we now share the space with our sister company – Castaway Home and Garden. This is the company owned by Liz and run alongside Skell Wrought Iron. It specialises in selling cast iron and steel artefacts for the house and the garden. The items Castaway sell are bought for their quality and attractiveness and compliment our hand crafted items. Items such as wall planters, wall art, cast iron garden accessories, wine racks and umbrella stands to name a few! You can find us in Handpicked Hal from Tuesdays through to Saturdays, opening hours are 9.30am – 5pm Tues – Fri and 9am - 5pm on Saturdays. If you haven’t been to see us yet, come along it’s worth a visit! Don’t forget, all of our items can be posted, couriered or delivered depending on size and weight. Postage costs vary but we only charge the actual carriage costs, we do not add anything else on for packing costs etc. Hopefully, it won’t be another 4 months until the next update!!
