Daikin Altherma LT Split System 1, Spring Meadow

The Space Air Daikin Altherma LT range of highly efficient heat pump systems are designed to replace conventional fossil fuel central heating systems, while reducing carbon emissions and lowering energy bills. 1, Spring Meadow A stunning semi-detached 2-bedroom house of approximately 116m2 retrofitted with a Daikin Altherma Split system Air-to-Water Heat Pump. The installation of the 8kW, Low Temperature, Single Phase Heat Pump system took just six days (1 for the site survey, 4 days to install the equipment and a final day to carry out commissioning and training). The outdoor heat pump unit was installed on the gable end of the house at ground level, the wall-mounted indoor hydrobox was installed in the location of the former oil boiler and the new hot water tank was installed in a cupboard where the old cylinder was located. The existing radiators were connected to the Daikin Altherma Split system. Reason for selecting Daikin Altherma LT Split Systems: Wiltshire Rural Housing Association (WRHA) has a program for the refurbishment of their older housing stock. Currently WRHA install Daikin Altherma Heat Pump systems in all their new build projects. They are now piloting the retrofitting of Daikin Altherma Heat Pumps in 8 existing properties, 1 Spring Meadow being an example. These properties originally featured oil fired or all-electric heating systems and the objective is to replace these with more efficient heat pump technology. Space Air Solutions supplies the ‘complete’ Daikin Altherma range (with a watt meter to monitor energy use) and manufactures unique piping kits to ensure that each installation can be a replica of the next.
