Inverters turn direct current into regulated alternating current. There are many differnt types of inverter available, ours have a sine wave output, square and semi sine are the most common and will work perfectly fine for things such as fridges etc. However, it may damage sensitive electronics so check your applicatinos first before you buy or hire. In some UPS systems the DC to AC section can be used as an Inverter.
