Brise Soleil (Sun Screening)

Steel grating, with the appropriately selected mesh for the angle between the sun and the building to be shaded, can act as an extremely effective sun screen. Aluminium grating on its own or in louvre form is able to achieve the level of desired sun screening whilst still minimising the amount of support steelwork desired. Light can still get through the grating but direct sunlight and as a result, heating is reduced - an important environmental consideration within office buildings. Steel grating is also commonly used for the accompanying brise soleil maintenance walkways as well.
