Legionella Prevention

Water systems need to be inspected regularly by a qualified professional that can assess and advise of any risks and provide an action based plan for legionella prevention. Storing water at extremely high temperatures brings with it the risk of scalding, so there are other options for storage of the water including UV light, ionisation, chlorine dioxide, ozone treatment and ongoing thermal disinfection of the water system. In order to remain safe, hot water should never be discharged at a temperature higher than 43 degrees Celsius.
