Zigma® in Oil and Gas
Land based Oil & Gas exploration and extraction, from North America, Siberia to the jungles of Papua New Guinea, are often located in very difficult and environmentally sensitive terrain which also experience severe weather and temperature conditions. Key challenges in deploying temporary access are similar to those in the transmission sector including the high risk of theft associated with aluminium mats (requiring high security costs), duration and remoteness of projects, minimising environmental damage to agricultural land, heritage sites or sensitive eco systems and avoiding the risk of cross contamination between sites which can lead to severe financial penalties. Specifically designed and engineered with this in mind, Zigma®'s heavy duty TuffTrak® and man-handleable EuroMat® deliver a number of key benefits to the Oil and Gas sector including reducing project costs, controlling health and safety risks and minimising the environmental impact. Featuring a unique dual grip capability, TuffTrak® incorporates Zigma®’s chevron traction® surface, with a rugged nub design, for optimum vehicle traction and improved grip even in the most challenging conditions and also features a low profile traction surface for site personnel. TuffTrak® can also be connected together by a variety of connection methods to suit different project requirements, varying weather and ground conditions to form extremely long roads and access ways, drilling rigs, working pads or depot storage areas. TuffTrak® and EuroMat® are chemically inert, avoiding leaching of possible pollutants into the soil and, unlike alternative hollow core composite mats, are manufactured as solid one piece construction. This design philosophy reduces the risk of damage by fork lifts or machinery, avoiding the intake of liquids or contaminants and the associated risk of cross contamination from one site to another. Manufactured from 100% recycled polyethylene, TuffTrak® and EuroMat® underlines Zigma®’s commitment to sustainability and also reduces the risk of theft, avoiding heavy security costs associated aluminium mats already noted. Supporting loads up to 150 tonnes*, TuffTrak® also allows the deployment of a wide variety of heavy plant, machinery and multiple vehicles typically used in oil and gas projects. Our lighter weight man-handleable EuroMat® is capable of supporting loads up to 80 tonnes* and is ideal as secondary access, providing lighter roadways, site walkways or fast deployment in cases of emergency. Zigma® has a wealth of experience in this key sector through its collaboration with partners on major projects across the globe.Visit the Zigma Ground Solutions Ltd website for more information on Zigma® in Oil and Gas
