Zigma® in Transmission

The global transmission sector demands specific requirements in the deployment of temporary access and ground protection that are unique to the industry. Zigma® Ground Solutions has worked extensively with key partners on many projects across the globe and understands these specific requirements which are reflected in the design and performance of our solutions. Some of the key challenges with transmission projects include the high risk of theft and avoiding security costs due to length and remoteness of projects, the requirement for non-conductive (EPZ) work areas and the avoidance of environmental damage to sensitive eco systems and cross contamination between sites. Further, transmission projects are often located in very difficult terrain experiencing severe weather and temperature conditions. Temporary access road on transmission project Zigma®'s products, manufactured from 100% recycled polyethylene, reduce the risk of theft, thus avoiding heavy security costs associated with aluminium mats. With the capability of supporting loads up to 150 tonnes*, TuffTrak® also allows the deployment of a wide variety of heavy plant, machinery and multiple vehicles typically used in transmission projects. Zigma® has designed a number of connection methods to match the various ground conditions including high tensile, hi-viz ‘flex’ connectors, ideal for undulating ground. TuffTrak® can also be connected to provide wider roadways for larger machinery, or linked together in pads to create safe and stable work platforms, especially EPZ. The engineered unique chevron traction® surface delivers ultimate grip and helps to dispel mud while vehicles traverse over them. the chevron nub design reduces sideways movement and slippage delivering optimal forward vehicle traction, even in the wettest and muddiest conditions. Our lighter weight man-handleable EuroMat® is capable of supporting loads up to 80 tonnes* and is ideal as secondary access, providing lighter roadways, site walkways or fast deployment in cases of emergency.
