Using DO-IT-ALL For Interior Decorating

13-03-2015

New plaster or plasterboard New plaster or plasterboard both require treatment prior to decorating or tiling. The reason for this is the natural high absorbency of new plaster and the plasterboard surface. The traditional way to treat these surfaces, is with a “mist-coat” of emulsion paint diluted 30% in water, to seal the pores in the surface. Failure to do this may result in poor adhesion of the paint coating and subsequent adhesion failure and peeling off. A quick and easy way to do this, is to spray apply DO-IT-ALL diluted 1:3 with water, and applied with a low pressure garden sprayer. Localised filling The same procedure should be used where the wall has been filled, but applying locally with a paint brush. Areas that have previously been damp. If there has been any dampness present, and even though the source of the dampness may have been addressed, at is good practice to apply 2 coats of DO-IT-ALL mixed 1:2 with water. TILING When tiling is planned, new plaster or plasteboard should be sealed with a mist-coat of DO-IT-ALL mixed 1:3 with water to ensure good adhesion. If the tiling is to be in a wet area, 2 coats of DO-IT-ALL mixed 1:2 with water should be applied to prevent water penetration in the event of a leak through the tiles. Once the tiles have been placed, adding DO-IT-ALL to tile grout not only improved the waterproof properties, but it also adds strength, toughness and additional resistance to mould.
