How Water Moves Through Buildings

15-01-2016

Water moves into, out of and over buildings in four different ways and all of these ways must be addressed in order to build a safe, dry and healthy building. As the last chapter says most commonly used insulation materials can actually restrict the ability of the building assembly to dry out. However Pavatex wood fibre thermal insulation is different because it allows the passage of water through the insulation itself and therefore out through the building envelope due to its vapour-open characteristics. However care must be taken when insulating the inside of solid walls that they are not over insulated.
