Accoya® timber for joinery

15-07-2014

Accoya timber for joinery is increasingly becoming specified by both architects and home owners. We are very pleased to be able to offer this material as an option for our range of products including windows, doors, orangeries and conservatories. What is Accoya timber? Accoya is not a timber species! It is radiata pine timber, (plantation grown in New Zealand) that has been modified at molecular level by an acetylation process. Benefits of Accoya made joinery: Timber is modified to its core. Durability is achieved by stopping the rot fungi from digesting wood, not killing them with toxins. It has a life span of 60 years plus. Virtually no swelling or shrinkage compared to any timber species. Excellent environmental credentials.
