A GRP building with a sedum roof?

27-01-2015

Fibaform Products Ltd has just completed the successful manufacture and installation of its first GRP gatehouse complete with a living sedum roof. This environmentally focussed gatehouse was manufactured for Readie Construction on behalf of Kuehne & Nagel. The GRP gatehouse was manufactured considering best practice in sustainable building design, construction and operation. Managing Director of Fibaform, Graham Wheeldon said, “This was an interesting project and a first for Fibaform Products. Our client was keen to achieve an excellent BREEAM certification for this project so our engineers designed a reinforced and insulated roof fitted with Enviromat sedum matting.” Green roofs are low maintenance, good for wildlife, improve insulation & sound proofing, help with rainwater management and provide additional roof protection. The gatehouse was delivered as a complete unit and installed by Fibaform in late October at the RCL Offices in Dagenham. Fibaform has been manufacturing quality GRP products for over 40 years and have supplied GRP gatehouses, cabinets, kiosks and enclosures to customers operating in almost every industry across the UK.
