Cork Wall Covering

Cork is a composite panel made up of bark and pressed granulated cork. After growing for 25 years, the cork oak is big enough to have the first layer of bark removed. This “virgin cork” is too thin to make wine corks, but we compress it for our panels. The panels are a standard size of 23.5 x 35.5 inches and about 1 to 2 inches thick. Cork has a high decorative quality. Cork has an acoustic value of 0.42 which is an even better result than one would get with 0.2 inches of felt. The panels work extremely well in dampening the sounds from outside, like piano playing neighbours.
