Flood Risk Assessments
PPS 25, published on 7th December 2006, replaces Planning Policy Guidance Note 25: Development and Flood Risk, published in 2001. Under this new statutory document, developers are required to provide an assessment demonstrating the following; • Whether the proposed development is likely to be affected by flooding. • Whether the proposed development will increase flood risk elsewhere. • That the measures proposed to deal with the risks and effects can be successfully managed with minimum environmental effect. • That the site can be developed and occupied safely.
