Disabled Access

In 1995 the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), became law in the U.K. and it applies to all Passenger lifts. The act also applies retrospectively to existing passenger carrying lifts insofar as the standards can be practically attained. You should be aware that the Disabilities Commission has the weight of law and the authority to impose penalties for non-compliance.
