Composite Doors

Doors are traditionally made out of uPVC, Wood or Glass. Unfortunately, each of these materials has its own disadvantages. That is why Composite Doors are now a popular choice, the frames are made from a number of different materials and have been designed to avoid the flaws of single material doors. There are a number of benefits to Composite Doors: The sub frame is usually around 1.7 inches thick and will normally contain an outer layer of hardwood to make it sturdy and rigid. The outer frame is generally made of uPVC but can include galvanised steel reinforcements around the edges for additional stability. Thanks to the combination of materials, the doors are resistant to weathering and weather-based damage such as warping and cracking. Because of the materials they are made from, composite doors require very little maintenance (unlike wooden doors which need painting every five years). Many composite doors have an extra layer of thermal insulation to help keep your home warm. The doors are available in a large range of colours and designs so you are sure to find one that suits your home.
