John Mudford started Mudfords in 1832, who set up in business as a rope maker. The company continued to thrive under the successive members of the family’s management.

175 years and seven generations later, “The Ropeman” the distinctive logo for the company, appears on many of our products, and has been a trusted symbol of quality for many decades.

From the early days of making rope from hand spun hemp, we now manufacture and merchant a large range of industrial textile products.
