Containerised Housing

03-02-2014

From August to December 2013 Paneltech have been working closely with QED Asset Management and Reds 10 to provide containerised housing for the homeless in Brighton. The site at Richardson’s Yard has 36 of these container apartments, which are stacked up to 5 high to take up a smaller footprint. Paneltech have manufactured all the Juliette balconies, other balconies, walkways, stairs and handrails to bring the complex together. The Juliette balconies were fitted to the container houses on their way to Brighton from Tilbury and whilst at our premises, graffiti art was added to two of them. This project has been publicised widely by national media and has been on BBC South East and local news channels, in many of the daily papers and broadcast on local radio stations. We are pleased to have been involved with such a "feel good" project, and are looking forward to working on a similar project in London in the very near future.
