Steel and COR-TEN® for landscaping and garden design Here at Paneltech we have been working hard recently to complete a number of bespoke designs, all of which have been made from Corten steel for London based garden designer, Ian Kitson. This work included 3 sculptural arbours, Corten steps, lots of metal edging for flowerbeds along with some very unique 'eyes' which were placed around the garden as a feature in Hornbeam hedge panels. Corten steel is the latest fashionable material amongst garden designers. It provides a weathered finish but resists corrosion. Take a look at some pictures of the finished products below. Another of our recent projects was to create 5 large raised planters also made of Corten steel, for Jordan's Mill in Biggleswade. These planters will form part of a feature garden displaying vegetable and crop growing. This garden was designed by Julie Toll and Ian Kitson. Corten steel isn't the only material that we can work with, there are a number of alternatives including more conventional materials such as Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel or Non-ferrous such as Copper or Brass. For Carbon Steel, we can offer a wide choice of protective and decorative finishes.
