The construction management form of procurement involves appointing a construction manager to work directly for the client. Construction works will be divided into packages and let to package works contractors who will be directly employed by the client. The construction manager will be responsible for the planning and co-ordination of all the works packages. The construction management procurement route allows construction works to commence as each works package is designed and can reduce the overall construction programme. In addition construction management can lead to increased quality assurance due to the high level of monitoring and control of the works by the construction manager.
