LLANERCH GIVES REHAU THE SEAL OF APPROVAL

08-09-2019

Nestled in the heart of the Welsh countryside is a stylish farmhouse called Llanerch, initially used as a working dairy farm and today popularly known for its vineyard. Located near the southern Welsh coast, the property is regularly visited by guests looking to wine and dine, enjoy the delicious country cuisine or have an overnight stay amid the beautiful landscape. As part of ongoing development work on the property, the owners were looking to significantly enhance its offering and provide guests with a five-star hotel experience unlike any other in the vicinity. An extension towards the back of the hotel was carried out, bringing the total number of rooms available up to 37. During this process, it was important for the owners that the refurbishment and products used kept in with the traditional character of the property – a key feature preserved for decades at Llanerch. As such, the owners engaged with a REHAU fabricator, GRM Windows to install a host of products that would significantly uplift the look and Victorian feel of the property. REHAU’s popular TOTAL70 casement windows in a Black Brown laminated profile was chosen for the window refurbishment as it fits in well with the traditional aesthetics of the building. In addition to its aesthetic appeal, the TOTAL70 casement windows offer the hotel guests a much higher security rating as the windows achieve the British standard BS7950 and PAS 23/24 security standards. The windows also feature extensive noise reduction as the double-glazed sealed units considerably reduce outdoor noise, ideal for the hotel’s guests looking for a quiet stay. Ryan Davies, Manging Director of Llanerch Vineyard said: “I was really impressed with the support provided by the GRM Windows team and also how well the REHAU windows fit with what we were after. The traditional style of the windows was a perfect match for the property. We liked the fit of the windows that much that we also had them installed in other sections of the property as part of an ongoing refurbishment project. “The REHAU windows are amazingly easy to maintain and the thermal efficiency has helped with our overall energy saving. We have received countless feedback from our guests informing of us of how great the building looks and how the new work has only extended the traditional look and feel of Llanerch.” REHAU’s TOTAL70 windows contain a unique compound with a smooth gloss finish which dramatically reduces the amount of upkeep needed, thereby retaining pristine appearance for longer. The compound also means that the windows will never rot, warp or need painting. REHAU’s single leg glazing beads also ensure that the installation process is as simple as possible, which was extremely important given the timescales provided by the client. James Harding, Sales and Marketing Manager at GRM Windows, said: “The owners had strict timescales in mind, with much of the project being carried out in phases and the bulk of the windows being installed at certain points throughout, as progress was made. “We have been working with REHAU for several years now and the quality of its TOTAL70 windows are second to none. It is a superior product in terms of quality, strength and thermal efficiency and the modern clean look of the windows with the traditional touches are spot on for Llanerch. “Llanerch made the choice of the Black Brown laminated profiles after taking a swatch sample to make sure that it matched their aesthetic requirements and the feedback has been very positive since installation.” REHAU’s popular French doors were also installed in selected points across the property, adding to its grandeur. The doors that were chosen, offer all of the benefits of the REHAU PVC products, including noise reduction and energy efficiency. Keeping in with the customer’s requirements, the doors were also chosen in a more traditional style to match the windows and in keeping with the aesthetic of the hotel. Steve Tonkiss, Commercial Manager at REHAU said: “Our longstanding relationship with GRM Windows is a testament to how well received and respected our products are within the industry. We are confident that Llanerch Vineyard will reap the benefits of our products and are very pleased with the outcome of the refurbishment.”
