Scania dealer saves 40 tonnes of CO2

Scania dealer saves 40 tonnes of CO2 annually with Vita Energia lighting energy efficiency project ScaniaAs part of a global corporate environmental policy, TruckEast, the main dealer of prestigious Scania trucks in SE England, sets and pursues annual green targets, aiming to reduce energy bills and carbon emissions. TruckEast provides convenient, local access to a one stop shop for servicing, repairs and maintenance in the East of England, and when Vita Energia lighting energy engineers surveyed its Wellingborough site, they confirmed that the existing lighting system had great potential for helping reach the annual carbon reduction targets. Initially, a test strip was set up, proving the efficiency of the Vita Energia solution and the quality of light, and as a result, the solution was rolled out across the entire site, which spans five acres and includes a 14 bay workshop, body shop and offices. Vita Energia’s lighting energy efficiency solutions is now saving the company just over £20,000 and 40 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. With an interest free loan from the Carbon Trust, and a payback of only 13 months, the project has not only cut cost, but improved the quality of light, benefitting approximately 70 workers at its Wellingborough site.
