20-07-2015

Ilkeston based WFP Fabrications, is fuelling speculation that the recycling game is ‘booming’, after landing a 100k contract with Ward Recycling to provide both Hook Lift Containers and Chain Lift Skips for the Metal and Waste recycling giant as they continue to expand. Ward Recycling currently operate sites in Ilkeston and Swadlincote and from February take over the site previously run by Richard Fletcher Metals in Chesterfield. WFP which recently celebrated its seven-year anniversary by adding two members of staff and investing in another weld bay, has worked with Ward Recycling since 2005, and this latest order is now underway. Managing Director at WFP Fabrications, Matthew Holmes, said: “We met with Michael Ward from Ward Recycling the week before Christmas to discuss this order with him, and to reassure him that we would be able to fulfil their requirements on both quality and productivity. We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded this contract, and production officially began this week. The contract will see the skip manufacturer producing 20 Hook Lift Skips, and 30 Chain Lift Skips in various sizes, an order which will see the family run business meet its £1million turnover target. Mr Holmes, added: “It has been a busy few weeks here at WFP and a fantastic start to the New Year. We have had meetings with our suppliers at European Steel to ensure that the order could be met, and we have extended the workshop to cope with the increased demand for our products.” WFP Fabrications has been at the forefront of the waste removal industry for many years, producing waste containers and skips for a wide range of very satisfied customers, including councils, construction companies, scrap metal and waste management companies. Mr Holmes continued: “We have seen an increase in demand over the last few months and with the economy growing, more business looks set to continue throughout the year.
