WDC was established in 1996 by John & Jean Woodward who previously owned Macwood London Limited formed in 1972 which was subsequently sold to the Elementer Group in 1994. John and Jean were joined by their sons, Phil, Graham and Chris fairly soon after incorporation. Jointly they formed a strong team. In 2004 Graham took over as Managing Director as John stepped down from the role. Soon afterwards WDC acquired Cloakroom Solutions Ltd a bathroom fittings business and in 2007 acquired FASS Security Ltd a hardware company to create a strong and expanding group.

Woodwood (Door Controls) Ltd are a leading provider of Macwood door control products, including under floor door operators, overhead door operators and automatic door locking systems.

Macwood door control products have evolved over the last 30 years as a result of close collaboration with architects, developers and building owners. The policy has always been to create a product which meets the building needs, satisfies the requirements of current legislation and yet in no way compromises the essential aesthetics of building design.
