05-07-2014

'Carved in Stone' Youth Project - July 04, 2014 Following the ‘Carved in Stone’ With the help of Dilys and one of our Apprentice Stonemasons the pupils were able to have a go at carving a piece of limestone for themselves after coming up with designs that tied in with the history of the Chapel. From this the students designed a stone feature to complement the existing celtic stone and new flooring. The selected stone was a cream limestone (Portland). Produced at our workshops in Cardiff and our craftsmen finished it by hand craftsman. We fitted this in line with the royal visit. It was the finishing touches to large restoration project to the Galillee Chapel at St Illtud’s Church. - See more at: http://www.architectural-stone.com/news/carved-in-stone-youth-project#sthash.acsE2wbX.dpuf
