The position of Business Development Manager has become available to service existing clients, develop new accounts amongst Roofing Merchants and Roofing Contractors and seek new business opportunities for GRP products. About the role: Providing external representation for the Company, the Business Development Manager will contribute to the overall efficient company operations by servicing existing Filon clients, reopening dormant accounts and being accountable for the acquisition of new business. The primary focus of the role is about growing business by building relationships with key influential decision makers. With a dynamic and focussed approach, you will have the ability to communicate confidently across all platforms, ensuring that commercial relationships are built, maintained and long-lasting. Additionally, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of product training to distributors and other resellers as and when necessary, to raise brand and product range awareness. Core roles and responsibilities To maintain effective client relationships within existing accounts and develop new customers through an established distributor network. To ensure distributor training and product presentation opportunities are created and maximised to raise brand and product awareness to improve business activity and sales. To ensure the sales targets and other business objectives are achieved. Identify pricing and margin opportunities. Communicate to internal team any quotations required and provide supplementary information relevant to pricing and competitor activity. Pass on requests for technical assistance or information. Report on competitor activity. Identify quotes to be pursued, chase to conclusion and report monthly on status. Maintain CRM system and ensure all contacts, both prospects and existing accounts include up to date contact information. Provide monthly sales call log report. Liaise with internal departments and Sales Director to capitalise on opportunities. Assimilate competitor, customer and industry information and disseminate accordingly to the relevant departments and stakeholders. Person specification – essential characteristics: Energetic, driven and positive ‘can-do’ attitude. Excellent communication skills. Build, network and maintain client relationships. Must have roofing knowledge. Identify pricing and margin opportunities. Customer focused, able to understand the market, identify trends and analyse data. Ability to conduct presentations to clients and specifiers. Willingness to deliver training modules to resellers and apprentices. Proactive ability to anticipate opportunities or potential problems. Team player able to work with others Analytical, able to collate information, prioritise data and workload Willing to stay overnight when seeing clients Person specification – desirable characteristics: Relationships with roofing merchants & contractors is preferable Experience of the industrial roofing is beneficial Knowledge of regulatory and legislative issues regarding the product Ability to deliver training modules to resellers and apprentices Rewards: In return for this full-time role, you will be offered entrance to the Company profit related pay scheme, pension contribution and generous holiday allowance and company mobile phone.
