Fläkt Woods Welcomes CIBSE CEO

Fläkt Woods has welcomed CIBSE CEO Stephen Matthews to its manufacturing facility in Colchester Essex. The visit on 14 August included a tour of the factory, as well as several key meetings and presentations to discuss the development of E-learning modules for young engineers and the upcoming changes to ErP legislation in January 2015. CIBSE Online Learning Modules offer a practical, flexible and convenient alternative to classroom courses. Each unit has been peer reviewed and tested, allowing a student to take a coordinated journey through an individual topic or a series of topics. From 2015, new Energy Related Products (ErP) legislation will require higher energy efficiency targets from commercial ventilation products. The changes are set to have a significant impact on the ventilation market, limiting the number of suitable products available for specification. Commenting on the visit, Yan Evans Fläkt Woods Vice President for UK and Ireland business, said: “We have always had a strong relationship with CIBSE, so we were pleased to welcome Stephen to our manufacturing facility. Our industry is facing some monumental changes over the coming years, so it was important to discuss how Fläkt Woods, as a manufacturer, can work with the CIBSE technical team to help engineers comply with the upcoming changes to legislation.
