Why Fingerprints?

Fingerprints are a great way to identify and recognise any individual and is one of the oldest Biometrics used. Nowadays there are laptops, phones and USB Pen Drives found with fingerprint readers installed. But there are so many reasons why using the fingerprints is the most common form of security identification. One of the first reasons is that is was and still remains a reliable access security system even as the persons ages. Some Iris and facial recognition for example can not overcome feature change whereas the fingerprint will stand the test of time. Facial recognition can become unreliable by even wearing glasses or having your hair on a certain part of your face, so this always need to be rectified when being scanned, whereas the fingerprints will remain the same.
