Docklands Light Rail - Bank Station Tunnels

14-01-2015

LDM Scanning were subcontracted to Sharpfibre Ltd a leading Passive Fire Protection company who will be installing new fire doors within the passageways of the tunnels. To install the doors they have to drill approx. 80mm into the existing concrete floor however, cables are present within the floor slab. LDM Scanning Ltd scanned the floor area within the 6 passageways using the Hilti PS1000X-Scan to locate the cables and mark up on the floor and reported our findings to Sharpfibre technical department to design the door fixings around the existing cables. the work was carried out between 1.30am and 4.30am when the trains were out of service so there was no disruption to DLR services.
