Four new central london McLaren sited simultaneously sign with Permanex CCS

In Spring 2014 four large and prestigious McLaren Group operated construction sites at various locations across Central London each signed with PermanexCCS for the provision of integrated security solutions. The four contracts, each scheduled to run into 2015, all include the provision of a suite of remotely monitored CCTV cameras to protect both the perimeter and the operational heart of each of the sites. In addition to the installation and ongoing maintenance of the equipment, PermanexCCS is also including a dedicated response service to ensure that optimum performance is maintained. One of the largest growth areas in site security over recent months has been in the provision of access turnstiles on many of the larger construction projects and the McLaren sites are no exception. Both full and half-height turnstile units are being used and these are an integral part of the biometric access control solutions now being demanded. They not only negate fraudulent access to a site or misuse but also help the sites to operate more efficiently plus accurately record the comings and goings of all staff and visitors. “Keeping accurate attendance records of everybody that visits and/or works on any given site is becoming increasingly important for large and small construction companies alike,” explained Oliver Cox, PermanexCCS’ Sales Director. “In addition to having an accurate record of who is on site at any given time, which is a vital health and safety requirement, it also means that a more detailed analysis can be done on how long specific elements of each of the projects takes. Another advantage is that the system can be used to track the dates and times sub-contractors spend on site and this information can then be used to manage and control bought in costs.” PermanexCCS is also providing a time-lapse service at each of these McLaren sites to provide a record of how each development progresses and these will ultimately be used by the marketing teams in due course. The installed time-lapse camera takes a still image at regular intervals and when pasted together they provide a ‘video’ of the entire development that will typically run for a couple of minutes. Each of the images taken are not only stored locally but also transmitted offsite to a secure location to protect this valuable resource.
