Mezzanine Floor for Cars

19-01-2014

One of the UK's largest BMW distributors took possession of an industrial unit in Leicester to stock their cars as they came in from Germany. The company wanted the cars kept under cover so they could do the pre-delivery inspections in a workshop environment. Alba was contacted to provide a multi-tier storage facility for the cars with ramps to allow cars to access level's one and two. Alba also provided the Armco barriers around the upper levels. The work was carried out on time to a fix cost that was provided under a competitive tender situation. The decking on the mezzanine platform was standard 38 mm Tand G particle board with tread safe top surface which is a hard wearing non slip top bonded to the top of the board. The thing that most surprises everyone about this project is that even though its designed to store the largest BMW X5 vehicles the loading is lighter than the standard loading we normally provide for a storage deck. This project once again showed the flexibility of the Q-dek mezzanine system to adapt to a non standard application without compromising on cost. Alba is looking at more of these mezzanine structures for the same client in Scotland, England and Ireland. If you wish to discuss a multi-tier Mezzanine floor contact Alba for expert advice and service.
