Trendy New York Style Deli opens in Glasgow The Merchant City area of Glasgow has long been known as the cool place to eat out in the city and when Central Market was planning to open its doors as the new kid on the block they contacted Alba Systems to come up with a mezzanine floor to provide an upstairs dinning area. The unit within an old tobacco warehouse was fairly small so the downstairs would be taken up mainly with the open plan kitchen bar area and wash-rooms. Alba came up with a design that provided the required seating and kept the area under a size that would have brought into play some restrictive planning issues. Alba provided the steelwork, staircase and balustrade to the mezzanine. The steelwork was left untreated to blend in with the old rustic look of the building to give the impression it was always there. Alba has provided many mezzanine solutions using the Q-dek system that are not standard modular platform applications.
